This PRE-Prealgebra course is an enriched class, covering topics one level prior to Prealgebra. The class utilizes the Singapore Math Dimensions Math 5 Textbooks, with supplemental material from Beast Academy, and will require students to have the Singapore Math Dimensions 5A Workbook for homework material. Unique Singapore Math methods and manipulatives will be utilized to deepen students’ understanding of concepts. Selected cartoon pages and elevated problem solving skills in Beast Academy will be introduced to make class fun and challenging! 

Max class size –  20 students. Target age – 4th-6th grade.

Dr. Fang Xu aims not only to teach students basic arithmetic skills, but also to engage students so that they understand concepts and know how to use them in a multitude of applications. Dr. Xu does not rely on rote memorization, but rather encourages students to think broader and creatively, sharpen problem solving skills, and connect concepts from one lesson to the next.
